I have been slacking!

Well I have probably been slacking a lot more than I should have. I haven't really been sewing but I did finish a lot of stuff for another craft fair. I did well at it too and got LOTS of ideas for new stuff. Here are some of my creations for that craft fair.

There and back again ..... a hobbit's quilt

One of my favorite places to find online free paper pieced patterns is Fandom in Stitches   where you can find patterns for Harry Potter, Twilight, True Blood and more. They have started a new project though a block of the month for the Hobbit called There and Back Again . While I messed up the first block a little bit and I think I bit off more than I can chew with the second block I am proud to say the second block is done! All 120+ pieces. (in a 7 inch block!)

Craft Fair

This past weekend I went to visit a friend in Maine. It was a wonderful trip getting to see another quilty friend. The purpose of the trip was a local middle school craft fair where we shared a booth. Both of us were worried about not having enough materials to sell so we ended up with WAY more than we could possibly fit onto our table. We both sold stuff and came out ahead so it was a success.
This is Missy setting up our booth at the craft fair. Lots of goodies to sell!

We also took my son to the ocean for the first time while we were there. At first he was afraid of the waves but once he realized that there were shells to collect there was NO stopping him! It was a great weekend!

Moving Stinks

For the last two and a half years I have been involved in a long distance relationship and the end is in sight. No we aren't splitting up we are moving in together in preparation for a wedding in October. It hasn't been much fun moving a little bit of stuff at a time because it means I am separated from my sewing machine. It deserves a break but I miss it greatly. I am hoping to be able to get to sewing next week again!

Invites

Well as of late I have been not sewing as much as I would like to but instead working on cleaning my house and getting ready for company before the Jack and Jill shower that my best friend threw for myself and my fiance. It was a simply wonderful party and a great weekend with family!

Also as a surprise our wedding invitations came in the mail on Saturday! They were hand made by a friend and WOW is all I have to say about them just WOW. So much more than I ever could have expected! So I figured since I have thank yous to write and invitations to address I would kill two birds with one stone so to speak. I sat down and began writing and just didn't stop until I was more than halfway done. Now after a second night of putting the nose to the ground they are all done and ready for stamps. Tomorrow's task will be the post office with the wedding invitations and the box of cookies headed to a friend who is deployed!

3-D Pinwheel Baby Quilt

Sometimes you just need some instant gratification! My instant gratification usually comes in the form of a completed quilt top. Piecing is my favorite part of the quilting process. So I used a super simple pattern from Lucy A. Fazely. I LOVE how it turned out!

Baby Quilt in progress

A very good friend asked for a baby quilt for her sister who is due in September. They know that they are going to have a little boy. So today after picking up my sewing room, and mowing the lawn I began cutting. I got everything cut out and now I'm working on the first seam. I will post pictures with my progress soon.

Ninja Quilt

When I first saw the ninja pattern on Fatcatpatterns I knew I had to make it for my future sister in law. It was a total surprise when she received it for her birthday last year. Each ninja is appliqued on in a different pose. This is a simple pattern and it was a lot of fun to make!
